Bell Let's Talk Day: A Conversation About Quickening

Bell Let's Talk Day 60m 2022 Canada

TIFF celebrates the power of film to give voice to mental health experiences and to promote well-being by bringing people together. As part of Bell Let’s Talk Day on January 26, join TIFF programmer Elysse Leonard for a conversation with writer-director Haya Waseem and Soch Mental Health Co-Founder Maneet Chahal about mental health in the context of culture, identity, and belonging.

This talk complements a free digital screening of Haya Waseem’s debut feature, Quickening. The intention is to promote dialogue about mental health experiences in South Asian communities and the importance of culturally appropriate mental health services.

The conversation will be available to rent for free on digital TIFF Bell Lightbox as of January 26 at 10am ET, and also streams on TIFF’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels January 26 at 12pm ET.

On Bell Let’s Talk Day, Bell will donate towards mental health initiatives in Canada by contributing 5¢ for every applicable text, call, tweet or TikTok video using #BellLetsTalk, social media video view and use of the Facebook frame or Snapchat lens. Visit to learn more.
