TIFF celebrates the power of film to give voice to mental health experiences and to promote well-being by bringing people together. As part of Bell Let’s Talk Day on January 26, join us virtually for a free digital screening of Quickening, the debut feature from writer-director Haya Waseem.
This screening will be accompanied by a conversation about mental health in the context of culture, identity, and belonging. The intention is to promote dialogue about mental health experiences in South Asian communities and the importance of culturally appropriate mental health services.
The film and conversation will be available to rent for free on digital TIFF Bell Lightbox. The pre-sale begins January 19 at 10am, and the film is available to watch between January 26 at 10am ET and January 28 at 10am ET. The conversation will also stream on TIFF’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels on January 26 at 12pm ET.
On Bell Let’s Talk Day, Bell will donate towards mental health initiatives in Canada by contributing 5¢ for every applicable text, call, tweet or TikTok video using #BellLetsTalk, social media video view and use of the Facebook frame or Snapchat lens. Visit bell.ca/letstalk to learn more.
