My Country is Missing

19m Shorts 2018

As a result of the turbulent situation in Ukraine that followed the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, many young Ukrainians started seeking better education and work opportunities abroad. This short documentary follows 22-year-old Liza, who comes to study in Toronto shortly after the revolution. Being far from family isn’t easy, but what proves to be even more difficult is seeing that people around her aren’t aware of the troubles in her country.
