In the 21st-century world of online dating and “ghosting,” Grace (Andrea Bang) feels like a chronically-single outcast. After being passed over for a promotion for being too reserved, Grace finds herself with a night off in Toronto and meets Carter (Joe Scarpellino), an NHL player at a career crossroads of his own. In a move typically unlike her, she seeks out a one-night stand with the handsome athlete, which quickly goes awry. In the awkward aftermath, the two end up walking and talking through the night, finding in the other a possible solution to the personal problems they each face, and a connection they can’t ignore.
Tamil Canadian writer-director Renuka Jeyapalan’s latest glitters with Toronto’s city lights, and explores the delicate and vulnerable act of revealing who you truly are to a complete stranger.
