“The spy-versus-spy drama you desperately need right now” –Barry Hertz, The Globe & Mail
The Courier is a true-life spy thriller that follows an unassuming British businessman, Greville Wynne (Benedict Cumberbatch), as he’s drawn into one of the most tense international standoffs in history: 1962’s Cuban Missile Crisis. At the behest of the UK’s MI6 and a CIA operative (Rachel Brosnahan), he forms a covert, dangerous partnership with Soviet officer Oleg Penkovsky (Merab Ninidze) in an effort to provide crucial intelligence needed to avert a nuclear confrontation.
